Panama City, Panama and the San Blas Islands with W in April of 2012. During our travels, we hiked the urban rainforest named the Parque Natural Metropolitano, watched ships pass through the Mira Flores Locks of the Panama Canal, took a 4x4 across the intercontinental highway to the Kuna Yala islands, also known as the San Blas, sailed the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean to the many villages of the Kuna people, met the villagers, bought hand-sewn Mola and soaked in their slowly dying culture. We snorkeled shipwrecks, dined on the freshest seafood one could imagine, practiced our broken spanish, and talked of love, life, and the troubles of the world with our French-Brazillian Captain. It is experiences such as these that make me truly feel alive. If I could choose do one thing my entire life, it would be to travel. Experiencing different cultures, cuisines, and environments opens one’s eyes to the true beauty of the world…until our next trip…
